The Château de Lastours is situated on four large rocky ridges in the valley of the Orbiel River, 12 kilometers outside Carcassonne, in the Aude department of southern France.
History
- Believed to date from the C13 period, the castles were constructed to control access to the Montagne Noire and the Cabardes region. These are some of the few original Cathar castles left.
