History

Muromachi period (1336-1573), a fortified stronghold for the local daimyō.

The ruins feature a shiro style architecture. The layout consists of a large central keep surrounded by a moat and a series of earthen walls.

Historical Significance and Events

Sengoku period (1467-1603), serving as a strategic location for the local daimyō to defend against rival clans. The castle was reportedly besieged by the forces of Takeda Shingen.

Current Status and Use

The ruins are currently in a state of disrepair, with much of the original structure having been destroyed over time.

The castle's central keep features a unique octagonal shape. The surrounding earthen walls have been preserved in a state of relative intactness, offering a glimpse into the castle's original architecture.
